Twenty Years Married – A Special Day
Been married 20 years;.together even longer than that. This week marked two decades since we stood in front of Lady J, our airplane, in our new hangar at our new home-surrounded by about 90 friends and family, sharing that incredible moment.
To celebrate, we just returned from a short cruise. A suite (a free upgrade!) made the trip even better. I think Kim’s good, clean living might have played a role in that little stroke of luck.
We didn’t do much. And it was perfect.
I love that gal so much. We’re two peas in a pod. We rarely argue, and we spend nearly 24/7 together-something that could drive many couples crazy but only strengthens us. I’ve come to believe that true friendship comes later in a marriage; it only forms after years of struggles, triumphs, a few tears, and laughter. It goes beyond being lovers or even partners. Kim and I have that.
A few days in the Bahamas-probably our 12th time, at least-and now we’re back to our nest and our lives. Gratitude doesn’t seem a big enough word for how I feel about Kim.
My friend.
Happy anniversary, my love.
